Everett detectives enter a house to process evidence after an earlier arrest by EPD’s SWAT team.

The Everett Police Department SWAT team arrested a man on suspicion of rape this morning at a house in the 2300 block of Oakes. Here are the details we have so far as provided by Aaron Snell at EPD…

The SWAT team served a warrant in Everett and took a rape suspect into custody.

At about 8:45 a.m. this morning, the Region 1 SWAT team served a search warrant on a residence in the 2300 block of Oakes Ave. One male was taken into custody.

The arrest was based on allegations that the male gave a female heroin at his residence on September 19th. He tried prostituting the female but she refused and he beat her with a stick. The male wanted to teach the female a lesson and raped her at gunpoint for disrespecting him. The female escaped the residence but saw the male a few days later when he pointed a gun at her as he drove past. The female reported both incidents and detectives investigated the allegations.

The male, a 44 year-old Everett resident, was taken into custody without incident. He was interviewed and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on probable cause for rape first degree (RCW 9A.44.040) and assault second degree (RCW 9A.36.021). -editor’s note: the suspect’s name was removed by MyEverettNews.com as the suspect has not yet made a court appearance-
