Everett Police traffic investigators are looking into the circumstances that left a 17-year-old girl with serious injuries after a car-pedestrian crash early Sunday afternoon. Police at the scene tell MyEverettNews.com that a VW Bug was travelling west on Everett Mall Way when it collided with the 17-year-old. The incident happened around 12:30 pm and tied up traffic for about an hour. It does not appear the pedestrian was in the crosswalk. Officers say the investigation is in its early stages and no further information is available at this time. The driver is cooperating with police and it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor. It happened in the 100 block of SW Everett Mall Way near the Honda motorcycle dealership. We’ll update when we have more information. This is the second serious injury car-pedestrian crash detectives have investigated that has occurred outside of a crosswalk in the last 15 hours.
