The City of Everett Cultural Arts Commission is now accepting applications for cultural arts grants to fund art programs and capital projects for 2015.
“The goal of the grants is to help support quality artistic and cultural programs and events in Everett,” said Carol Thomas, cultural arts manager. “We hope to see a diverse representation of projects and activities that everyone in Everett can learn from and enjoy.”
The commission will award up to $40,000 in grants for 2015. Arts organizations, artists, educational institutions and community organizations that offer arts programs and services, and that meet the eligibility requirements, are invited to apply. All grant-funded projects must take place within Everett city limits and be open to the general public.
In the past, grants have supported everything from theater equipment to ballet and live music performances to a forum to discuss arts for special-needs audiences. “You are only limited by your imagination,” said Thomas.
Applications are available online. Interested groups can also contact Carol Thomas for more information at 425-257-7101 or cthomas@everettwa.gov. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
To be eligible for a programming grant, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with at least one year of operating history. Nonprofits with at least two years of operating history are eligible to apply for a capital projects grant.
The City of Everett Cultural Arts Commission is composed of volunteer commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor. The mission of the commission is to initiate, sponsor, organize and promote cultural and artistic programs and services for the enrichment and enjoyment of the Everett community.
