Physical Fight in Everett Ends in Gunfire

1 person is in custody after a physical altercation escalated into gunfire early Saturday morning. According to Everett Police spokesman Aaron Snell, around 2:40am officers were called to the 1100 block of Hewitt Avenue to a report of someone having been shot. Arriving officers found one person who had been shot in the back. That person was taken by medics to Providence Regional Medical Center. Officers investigating at the scene were able to develop information that the suspect may be at a house in south Everett. Officers went to the house and were able to take that person into custody. Major crime detectives were called out and the investigation is ongoing.
