A very hot situation for Everett Firefighters as a deck fire began to spread to an attic Tuesday afternoon in south Everett. Firefighters were able to get a stop on it and slow the damage done. Here’s what we know so far from Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson who also shared these pictures from the Everett Fire Department Twitter Feed.

Just after 3:15 pm Everett Fire Department crews responded to a report of black smoke coming from the back of a house in the 10800 block of Holly Drive. Arriving crews found flames on the back deck that had spread to the eaves and into the attic. No one was in the home at the time, but a small dog was found inside in smoke-free conditions in vigorously healthy condition. Crews are extinguishing embers in the attic to ensure the fire is out. The dog is fine. There were no injuries to firefighters. Neighbors are helping the department contact the owner. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the amount of damage is not yet estimated.
