Man Killed Saturday Night Crossing I-5 Near Lowell in Everett

I-5 pedestrian accident

The pedestrian was trying to cross 5 lanes of Freeway at 10:30pm.

The Washington State Patrol tells MyEverettNews.com a 53-year-old man from Tukwila was killed last night when he tried to cross the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Lowell overpass. The accident happened at 10:39pm and tied up southbound traffic out of Everett for hours while Troopers investigated. According to WSP, the man tried to cross from the right shoulder across the freeway eastbound where he was struck by a Ford Ranger pickup and a Mazda M3. Neither driver was injured but the pedestrian died at the scene. No word on why the man was on the freeway.
