Back in October of 2011 we told you Top Foods had sold its Everett Mall Way location to Wal-Mart. Earlier this spring work started on the new 90,000 square foot store and today MyEverettNews.com had a chance to meet Chris Johnson and Jenny Burgmeier who are the manager and assistant manager for the new Wal-Mart. They’ve opened a hiring office at 909 SE Everett Mall Way and are accepting applications for all positions. There are both full and part-time openings for everything ranging from cashier to supervisor. Experience is not required for the cashier positions but retail experience is needed for those looking to work at a supervisory level. “It’s a great place to work,” said Johnson.” I started 13 years ago as a cashier with no experience and now I’m managing a brand new store.” The store is expected to open in early September but some people may begin training by the end of this month at area Wal-Marts. The majority of jobs will start in August.

Walmart will hire approximately 200 associates to work at the new Walmart. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The temporary hiring office is at 909 SE Everett Mall Way Suite D480. Interested applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com. Through Walmart’s Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months.* Interested veterans may find out more at http://walmartcareerswithamission.com. *Veterans must be within 12 months of active duty and meet Walmart’s standard hiring criteria.
