Quick Work by Everett Police to Bust Bungling Burglar
Everett Police used a sharp-nosed K-9, teamwork and a bit of help from neighbors to bust a bungling burglar Sunday night. A K-9 officer was patrolling near Nassau and Pacific when he was flagged down by a citizen reporting a burglary that just occurred. The officer saw the suspected burglar running from the scene. He called for additional help and officers were able to quickly contain the area. The officer deployed his K-9 partner who immediately caught the scent of the fleeing burglar. Officers were also helped by following the trail of evidence the burglar was dumping as he jumped backyard fences trying to get away. Neighbors began calling 9-1-1 to report seeing the guy in their back yards. The K-9 tracked the suspect to a back yard shed and he was taken into custody. Officers were able to recover the stolen merchandise and return it to the burglary victim. The suspect was taken to the Everett Police station and will hopefully consider a new career choice.
