Got this press release from City Of Everett Spokesperson Meghan Pembroke on how sprinklers saved an apartment fire from spreading last night at an apartment on Casino Road…Everett firefighters Thursday responded to a report of a sprinkler activation at an apartment complex in the 600 block of West Casino Road.
The automatic fire alarm sounded shortly after 7:15 p.m. Thursday, March 6. When firefighters arrived, most occupants had already evacuated. Firefighters investigated and found that the apartment fire had been extinguished by the building’s fire sprinklers.
Firefighters and police determined the fire was caused by a resident attempting to manufacture a marijuana product. No arrest was made.
According to the U.S. Fire Administration, “The most effective fire loss prevention and reduction measure, with respect to both life and property, is the installation and maintenance of fire sprinklers. Fire sprinkler systems offer the optimum level of fire safety because they control the fire immediately in the room of origin, help prevent flashover and often extinguish the fire before the fire department arrives on the scene.”

No word yet on what the marijuana product was that the person was trying to manufacture.
