Everett Planning Commission meetings are now on Everett TV.

If you’ve ever sat through a meeting of the Everett Planning Commission you know they can be fairly dry. Setbacks and parking spaces aren’t sexy. They are the things however that most directly affect people who live within the Everett City limits. In an effort to make more people aware of what’s going on in the city, Everett has moved the location of the planning commission meetings to the Everett City Council chambers at 3002 Wetmore. That’s so the meetings can be seen live on the local cable TV access channels as well as live on the internet. Here’s a press release from Meghan Pembroke giving you all the details as well as a preview of what you will see tonight…

Everett Planning Commission meetings are now broadcast live via the Everett Channel on Comcast channel 21, Frontier channel 29 and on the city’s website. The meetings will re-air throughout the week as part of the Everett Channel’s regular schedule.

The planning commission is an advisory group of eight Everett residents appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council. The commission makes recommendations to the city council and city administration on broad planning goals, policies and long-range plans. The commission typically meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the council chambers, 3002 Wetmore Avenue.

In a special meeting tonight, Feb. 11, the commission will discuss the Riverfront Redevelopment project. Interested community members who cannot attend the meeting in person can watch live on the Everett Channel or online at http://everett.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?publish_id=6.

At this time, planning commission meetings will not be archived on the city’s website, but will re-air on the Everett Channel throughout the week. For the current programming schedule, visit www.everettwa.org/default.aspx?ID=1719.
