Everett, Police Blotter

Received this press release from Aaron Snell regarding the search for a man who attacked a janitor at the Everett Mall…

The Everett Police Department is seeking the public’s help to identify a male who brutally assaulted a night janitor.

Just before 2:30 a.m. on November 8, 2013, a night janitor working at the Everett Mall cinemas walked past a male sitting in the hallway. The male yelled at the janitor who did not understand as he only speaks a little English. The janitor continued walking and the male started following him. The male got close enough and punched the janitor in the head numerous times. When the janitor fell to the ground, the male kicked him in the head repeatedly before pulling out a knife. The knife was held to the janitor’s throat and cut him. When the male suddenly stopped, the janitor took the opportunity to run away while yelling for someone to call 911.

The janitor had severe injuries to his face, suffered a concussion and had a small cut to the throat.

It is unknown where the male went after the assault. Officers conducted an extensive area search, but could not locate him.

The male is described as a white, in his mid-20’s, about 6’ tall with blonde hair. He wore a black jacket, blue jeans and used a blue handled knife.

Detectives have worked leads but are unable to identify the male and are looking for the public’s help. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 911 or the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
