Editor’s Note: I started MyEverettNews.com three years ago this month as a way to report on stories of interest in Everett, WA where I was born and raised. I also wanted to explore the area of hyperlocal publishing where people were able to report on things they found of interest and share them with the greater community. This afternoon MyEverettNews.com surpassed one million page views. That is amazing to me and I am grateful that so many have found something of interest here. It’s been a one man operation from the beginning and I appreciate those who have been willing to share their information with me both on and off the record. At MyEverettNews.com the stories are typically short glimpses into what is happening. As in most of the online publishing world, resources are scarce and while I’m unable to provide in-depth coverage I am happy to pass along these quick updates on things I see happening in Everett. I’d like to thank long time advertisers McClain Insurance and Snohomish PUD for their support through advertising and would encourage other Everett business owners to consider advertising as well. With one million page views over three years, it is a good return for a relatively small investment. I’d also like to thank those who have made individual contributions as well thru voluntary subscriptions. Every little bit absolutely helps. If you’d like to join in supporting this effort you can make a voluntary subscription of $1.00 per month or $10.00 per year over on the right side of the page.

I’d also like to encourage you to provide feedback on what you’d like to see from MyEverettNews.com in 2014. I’m looking at a re-design of the page with more photos. Is that something you’d appreciate? Should I add a marketplace or community events calendar or just leave well enough alone? Please let me know by replying in the comments section of this article or by sending me an Email Here.

Again thanks to all who have stopped in once or who visit daily. You can receive our headlines in your email daily if you’d like, just scroll down a bit on the right column. You can also “Like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. By the way when there is breaking news it always goes on our Twitter Feed before the website. Especially if it is a developing story. Again thanks to all of you for your support of My Everett News. – Leland Dart, Publisher, Editor, Chief cook and bottle washer.
