Stacy Brim, a recent graduate of Everest College-Everett, has been selected as the college’s 2013 Dream Award winner, the school announced today.

Brim earned a diploma after completing the pharmacy technician program at Everest College-Everett. The 29-year-old Everett woman’s upbeat persona, leadership and tenacious drive to succeed led to the annual award, which recognizes graduates who have improved their lives through education. As a Dream Award winner, Brim will receive a $2,500 Everest College scholarship to pursue an advanced program in her field of study.

While in school, Brim was selected as an Ignite Ambassador, a leadership role extended to select students. Brim completed the course with a 4.0 GPA and near-perfect attendance.

“Stacy has overcome extreme challenges and, as an ambassador, really came out of her shell and began to shine on campus,” said Lorine Hill, president of Everest College-Everett. “She was never discouraged by personal setbacks or challenges and made the pursuit of her education a top priority.”

“This was totally unexpected and I feel really honored to receive the Dream Award,” Brim said. “Relocating to the Everett area was really difficult at first, but I was able to make a great connection with the staff and other students who were instrumental in guiding me and making me feel right at home. I hope one day to come back to teach at the campus and help future students have the same positive experience I did. ”
