Everett Silvertips Pink The Rink

More than $200k has been raised over the past 4 years.

A reminder of one of the more exciting and inspiring hockey nights of the year… The Everett Silvertips are proud to once again partner with Providence Regional Medical Center and the Safeway Foundation to bring you Pink the Rink 2013!  Our fifth annual Pink the Rink game is coming up next Saturday, November 2 as the Silvertips host the rival Seattle Thunderbirds at Comcast Arena.  The event has raised more than $225,000 for the local fight against breast cancer over the past four seasons.

Pink the Rink is a cooperative effort between the Silvertips, the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership, the Providence Comprehensive Breast Center and the Safeway Foundation to raise donations that fund free breast cancer screenings for local women without insurance or the means to pay.  By aiding with early detection, the money raised will help Providence fight breast cancer and ultimately save lives right here in our community.

Last year’s Pink the Rink was the most successful yet, racking up nearly $100,000 in new donations to the Providence General Foundation.  This year’s event will again strive to eclipse last year’s dollar amount while also recognizing breast cancer survivors, offering support to those currently fighting the disease and displaying an impressive show of community support for the cause.  The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a light-up pink glow stick courtesy of the Safeway Foundation and Providence Regional Medical Center.

There are many different ways to get involved in this year’s Pink the Rink effort.  Click Here to buy tickets to the Nov. 2 game vs. Seattle and $5 off every ticket sold through this special offer will be donated.  The specialty jerseys worn by the Silvertips for the game will once again be autographed and auctioned off to the fans, with 100% of the proceeds going to the cause.  Click Here to submit a closed online bid for your favorite player’s jersey in advance.  Bidding on all jerseys will continue in the arena on the night of the game.

In addition to tickets and jerseys, we’re also raising money through the sale of other pink items like t-shirts and pucks.  This year’s Pink the Rink t-shirts are available in pink (with glow-in-the-dark paint) or gray, in sizes ranging from small to 3XL, for $12 each or $10 for Silvertips season ticket holders.  Pink the Rink pucks are for sale at $10 each, or for $20 you can order a pink puck autographed by your favorite Silvertips player.  T-shirts and pucks are available at the Silvertips Team Store, the team office and on game night at the BECU Guest Services booth.
