Everett Police Name Suspect Who Cut Woman’s Throat

UPDATE: According to Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell, Yonathan A. Carreno Duarte turned himself in at 8:30pm Thursday night. After speaking with detectives Snell says he will be booked into the Snohomish County jail.

Everett Police have issued a bulletin for a suspect who reportedly cut a 20-year-old woman in the neck last night. It occurred around 9:30pm near the Safeway at 75th and Evergreen. Click here to see the wanted poster from EPD.

Here’s the latest from Everett PD on the investigation…

Detectives continued investigating the incident throughout the night. A knife was located near the crime scene and has been impounded as evidence. Detectives believe the knife was used during the assault. The ex-boyfriend has been identified as 28 year-old Yonathan A. Carreno Duarte of Lynnwood. There is probable cause for his arrest with the charge of assault in the first degree – domestic violence. A Public Information Bulletin is attached to this update. Anyone with information on Carreno Duarte or knows his current location is asked to call 911.
