Bubble Run and Comcast Events Closing Roads in Everett Friday and Saturday

The Folks at Experience Everett asked us to pass along this information about road closures in Everett today (Fri.) and Saturday. This letter was sent to folks living in downtown Everett…

This notice is to inform you of an exciting event that will require road closures which will affect your residence, property or business. As part of Comcast Arena at Everett’s Block Party, Bubble Run TM is coming to Everett! Bubble Run is a family friendly 5k fun run, during which participants pass through walls of colored foam at each kilometer along the course. Averaging about 3,000 participants, the event is open to all ages and abilities and is a unique way to encourage healthy physical activity.

A course and timeline have been established to create a fun and safe event while still allowing freedom of movement to most of the community. While there will be temporary road closures and reduced street parking, the majority of the course will remain along Colby Ave, leaving most residents access to adjacent alleyways. We would love for you to be a part of the event, either as a volunteer, or by using the discount code provided in this notice to register as a participant.

Please note that on Sept 21st, there will be no parking along the course. Vehicles parked along the course will be inaccessible from 9AM-12PM. If you will need your vehicle on the morning of Saturday, Sept 21st, please plan accordingly. This is especially important at our Bubble Bogs (see boxes on attached map). Even though thousands of runners passing through piles of colored foam might LOOK like a car wash, we doubt you would be happy with the results.

There will be no shortage of great events on the 21st! With the Coho Derby, Imagine Children’s Museum Derby Days, Bubble Run, Comcast Arena’s Block Party, and Silvertips’ home-opener, this city is THE place to be! Get ready for a party, Everett!

Breakdown of road closures…

Friday, Sept 20th

 10AM: Downtown closures on Oakes and Rockefeller between Hewitt and Wall

 6PM: Colby Ave closes between 16th-17th, between 17th-18th, and between 23rd-25th

(17th remains open) for Bubble Bog set up.

 Overnight: Remaining road closures along Colby take place:

Wall St to 16th St

16th St closes between Hoyt and Wetmore.

* No overnight parking on Colby Ave. between Wall St and 16th St, or on 16th between Hoyt and Wetmore.

Saturday, Sept 21st

 6AM: Hewitt closes between Oakes and Broadway.

 9AM: Run starts. Cars parked on run course streets will be inaccessible until 12PM.

 9AM-12PM: Officer assistance at Hewitt and Everett Avenues.

 12PM: Local access to Colby and east/west streets reopen as last runner passes each intersection on return (southbound). Bubble Bog breakdown starts. Hewitt remains closed for Block Party.
