The City of Everett Planning Commission is holding a public hearing tomorrow night on revised plans for a townhouse development across from the north shore of Silver Lake in south Everett. Taylor Development bought the land, known as Silver Lake Center, out of bankruptcy and has been working with the city on development plans since early this year. The former owner, Alan Clark, had promised a mixed use concept and worked extensively with the city and neighborhood groups but was never able to bring his plan to fruition. Kevin Taylor, owner of Taylor Development told the Everett City Council back in March that the site could support retail or housing but not a mixed concept. Taylor is now proposing a townhouse development with 100 housing units stretching from 19th SE across from the lake around to 110th SE behind the Safeway store. In a briefing, the city says Taylor wants to combine the planning process and shoreline permit process to expedite the permitting for the site. The meeting is set for Tuesday September 17th, 6:30pm at Silver Lake Elementary School 12815 Bothell-Everett Highway.
