Got this release from the city of Everett this afternoon…

Everett, WA flood picture

Free sandbags are available at 3 locations in Everett

The City of Everett is preparing for a possible repeat of last week’s rain storm that caused flooding in several areas of the city. Crews are busy inspecting and cleaning catch basins and sewer manholes to make sure that the drainage system can accommodate the expected rainfall.

Homeowners who are concerned about controlling runoff into their property can obtain free sand and bags at three locations: old Fire Station 4 off Mukilteo Blvd. at Forest Park, the parking lot on Alverson Blvd. across from Legion Park, and near Silver Lake Park, across from Fire Station 7 at 11221 Silver Lake Road.

Howarth Park and Pigeon Creek Park remain closed due to water quality concerns caused by the flooding. Everett will continue to take water quality samples until the water quality returns to normal background levels.
