Nimitz Return to Everett May Be Delayed
Official photo from the USS Nimitz Facebook page
Back on August 8th we told you that the USS Nimitz was likely at its halfway point on its first full deployment from Naval Station Everett. We based that on
this video from Captain Jeff Ruth. We also mentioned that the ship’s tour could be extended and that now seems more likely after Captain Ruth posted this on the
Nimitz Facebook page earlier this week…
From the Captain:
“We do not yet know the extent of our continued involvement in the Fifth Fleet AOR, but I have every confidence that no matter what we are called to do we will be successful. ‘Team work … A Tradition’ is just not a catch phrase for us; it is the backbone of our success.”
CAPT Jeff Ruth
CO, USS NIMITZ (CVN 68)
With events always in flux, the Nimitz may or may not be at sea longer than previously planned. The Navy does not comment on ship movements. MyEverettNews.com will continue to follow the Nimitz as it continues on its deployment and we’ll update you with relevant information as it is made available.
