On August 16th Everett Police and Fire crews worked feverishly to save the life of a one year old girl reportedly run over by a car in the driveway of her south Everett home. They were unsuccessful in their attempt to revive her. Today Aaron Snell of the Everett Police Department issued the following brief statement:
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office completed their examination and identified the eighteen month old girl who was backed over as Malana Lai of Everett. The cause of death was blunt-force and crushing injuries.
Detectives working the case have determined the driver of the vehicle was the girl’s father and the incident was an accident. No charges will be referred for prosecution.
There will be no additional updates or information provided for this case.
