Disaster Preparedness Class in Everett to Focus on Needs of Seniors

Snohomish County will host a disaster-preparedness class geared toward seniors and their needs during an emergency.

This free program provides a step-by-step approach to disaster preparedness by walking residents through information about local emergency plans, how to identify hazards that affect local areas and how to develop and maintain an emergency communications plan and disaster supplies kit.

Other topics covered include evacuation, emergency public shelters, animals during disasters and information specific to people with access and functional needs.

The class is presented by Snohomish County’s Department of Emergency Management and sponsored by The Everett Clinic, Snohomish County Long Term Care & Aging and the Snohomish County Council on Aging. It will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, April 24, at:
