Stranded Boater and Dog Rescued From Everett Jetty

A look at Jetty Island
Early morning call out for Everett’s Marine Unit after a boater called the Coast Guard saying he was stuck on Jetty Island. Everett Police Public Information Officer Aaron Snell provides the details…
At about 2:30 am, U.S. Coast Guard received a stranded vessel call on Jetty Island. They arrived and assessed – were not able to reach boat on the SE side of island. Boat was stuck on the rocks and could not be moved. Called EPD at about 4:30 am to assist. EPD responded and reached the boat. A 42-year-old Everett man and his dog were safely rescued. Male stated he took off about midnight, became stuck and stayed aboard until help arrived. No injuries.
At last check, the boat is still stranded on the rocks but should be removed as tide comes up.
