CHC logoA new dentistry program is being established at Community Health Center of Snohomish County. Looks like a win-win for patients and dentists who wish to advance their skills. Here’s the information from Joan Schrammeck at CHC…

A new residency program based in Everett will soon be training dentists for Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). The program will be based at the Community Health Center (CHC) of Snohomish County with sponsorship from Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. The resident dentists will be located at the 112th Street Dental Clinic in South Everett and attend to patients from Snohomish County.

Like all residencies, the dentists who are being trained will provide advanced dental care under the supervision of fully licensed dentists and dental specialists and also maintain a regular panel of patients. The one-year program will welcome its first two residents in July 2013.

Community Health Center of Snohomish County meets the needs of a diverse community for access to high quality, affordable primary medical, dental and pharmacy services. The Director of Dental Services at CHC of Snohomish County, Kishore Shetty, DDS, MS., has been named director of the residency program. He is board certified in Hospital Dentistry, Dental Anesthesiology and Oral Implantology. Dr. Shetty is optimistic that this dental residency program, the first in Snohomish County, will offer the dentists a hands-on opportunity to work on complex cases in a diverse population and, in turn, prepare them for real world experiences.

The selected Dental Residents will garner a wide range of dental experiences working with patients of all ages with varying health needs. All the dental faculty at CHC have advanced dental training in hospital and public health settings and collectively believe that their residency programs prepared them to be confident and well-trained clinicians.

Applicants for the Dental Residency program may contact David Griggs, Recruiter at 425-789-3742 or dgriggs@chcsno.org to learn more about the position, for more information. Advantages of the Dental Residency at CHC 112th Street Clinic in South Everett include:

• Dental co-located with medical care.
• Diverse clientele of all ages presenting various needs for dental care.
