The Everett City Council is expected to approve spending nearly $200,000.00 on two lobbyists to push the City of Everett’s interests in Puget Sound, Olympia and Washington D.C. On Wednesday, the Everett City Council will consider renewals for contracts with Doug Levy and his firm Outcomes by Levy for $72,000.00 and McBee Strategic Consulting in Washington D.C. for $120,000.00. Those are the same amounts that the city spent in 2012. Levy is being asked to concentrate on current legislative, funding and regulatory matters in Olympia and the Puget Sound area while McBee will focus on those in Washington D.C. who work on Fiscal Year 2014, federal funding, freight mobility, transportation and transit as well as infrastructure funding, higher education-workforce training and defense and energy. The Everett City Council will meet Wednesday night at 6:30pm at 3002 Wetmore in downtown Everett.
