Crash Shuts Down Northbound 529 From Everett to Marysville

A crash early Saturday morning has led to the complete closure of Highway 529 which runs from Broadway at Marine View Drive into Marysville. According to the State Department of Transportation Northbound SR 529 at Marine View Drive in Everett is closed following a collision on the Snohomish River Bridge. The collision damaged at least one vertical and one diagonal steel support beam on the third truss span of the bridge. The route will remain closed until bridge engineers from Olympia confirm the bridge is structurally safe. Drivers on SR 529 will be detoured on east Marine View Drive back to Everett Avenue and be able to get onto Northbound I-5 there. We’ll update when we get word on whether the bridge will remain closed for the weekend.
