The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 883 and Everett Transit has kicked off its Annual “Stuff a Bus” campaign to collect toys and food for community members in need this holiday season.
The ATU and Everett Transit are collecting toys and food to benefit Volunteers of America, a local charity that works with families in need located in the Everett community.
Participate in the following ways:
Drop off new, non-violent themed toys and donations at the Fred Meyer store located at 12906 Bothell Everett Highway between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturdays Dec. 1, Dec. 8 or 15 and Sunday Dec. 9 or 16.
Drop off items between now and Dec. 14 at the Carl Gipson Senior Center, 3025 Lombard Ave. in Everett and Everett Transit’s customer service center, located at Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave. in Everett.
In addition to collecting toys and food items, the ATU Local 883 also donates $1,500 toward the cause.
“Our Everett Transit workers set a positive example for each of us during the holiday season with their annual Stuff a Bus event,” Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson said. “Giving and sharing in this way makes our community stronger.”
