Ivar's Clam

After 26 years Ivar’s Everett has a new look and updated menu

We told you last month about the closing of the popular Ivar’s Seafood Bar at 41st and Colby. The closure was just temporary so the restaurant could be remodeled for the first time in 26 years. Like most remodeling projects it took a bit longer than expected but Ivar’s is back open. According to the P.R. folks at Ivar’s, here’s what you can expect when you visit…

After a month of renovations, Ivar’s has re-opened it seafood restaurant in Everett, debuting a sleek interior, brightly colored exterior and new menu options. Guests need to only look for the 15-foot inflatable clam on the roof to find the fast casual Seafood Bar, located at 1520 41st Street near Everett Memorial Stadium.

After serving the Everett community for 26 years, the Seafood Bar temporarily closed in early October to welcome a wave of change, including a fresh new interior, menu makeover and the addition of a Coca-Cola Freestyle drink machine, which dispenses 125 sparking and still beverage brands at a touch of a button. The 3,828 square-foot space boasts brand new dining booths and counter seating, fresh flooring, and custom tables and chairs to provide comfortable and ample seating for dine-in guests. In addition, there’s a new soup display featuring an expanded array of Ivar’s world-famous chowders and soups, as well as a fresh salad and sandwich station with hand-tossed salads and sandwiches made to order. The classic menu offerings, such as Ivar’s Fish ‘n Chips and Grilled Platters, are joined by new entrees and sides, including:

· Grilled Salmon BLT: Grilled wild Yukon River Salmon, red leaf lettuce, tomato, bacon, house made garlic aioli and served on a rustic, multi-grain bun

· Crab Cake Sandwich: Panko breaded Northwest Dungeness and Snow Crab with garlic aioli, organic wild greens tossed in balsamic vinaigrette and served on a freshly baked bun

· Fish Sandwich: Ivar’s famous Pacific True Cod topped with red leaf lettuce, tomato and Ivar’s famous tartar sauce served on a Kaiser bun

· Asian Soba Salad with Prawns: Tiger Prawns and ramen noodles tossed in a ginger sesame vinaigrette with edamame, red bell pepper, red and green cabbage and topped with hand cut wontons

· Grilled Fish Tacos: Southwest spice marinated grilled Pacific True Cod, Ivar’s signature coleslaw, chipotle tartar sauce and served with a side of fresh garden salsa

In addition to the new menu items, the restaurant is celebrating the re-opening by giving customers the chance to enter to win a Coca-Cola bike or iPad. Sweepstakes will end December 31, 2012.
