Mark Hoidal, owner of General Brushless in Everett, tells MyEverettNews.com the free washes are given to honor and recognize those that have and are serving in the armed forces. Hoidal’s location is among hundreds worldwide who are participating in a program known as Grace for Vets. It was founded by Mike Mountz, owner of Cloister Wash & Lube, in 2004. According to a press release, the program continues to grow and expand its reach of honoring military service each year as additional car washes register under the program to give FREE washes. Currently there is participation from all 50 United States, and three other countries, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In 2011, 638 wash operators, totaling 1,446 locations washed 119,317 military service vehicles on November 11th. Hoidal says Everett’s General Brushless Car Wash is looking forward to honoring local service men and women on November 11th and is encouraging military service personnel to visit the Grace for Vets website at www.graceforvets.org to find other participating washes, if a General Brushless Car Wash location isn’t in their area. “We’re excited that the program has expanded internationally as it allows more military service to be honored,” said Hoidal. “I’m proud to be a part of an industry that continually supports our military.”
In addition to the General Car Wash at 6101 Evergreen Way in Everett, the Brown Bear Car Wash at 3523 Broadway near downtown Everett will also be giving free car washes to all military personnel and veterans on Sunday.
