The driver of a van on his way to the Costco in south Everett is very lucky after striking a power pole Friday evening. The crash occurred shortly after 5pm at the intersection of Burley Drive and 19th SE in Everett’s Eastmont neighborhood. According to the PUD crews checking the pole, the driver reportedly lost control of his van and hit the power pole but managed to somehow miss the guy wires that support the pole. That kept the pole from falling and averted a real mess for the evening commute.
