Police talk with witnesses where the robbery suspect was last seen Wednesday afternoon. A K-9 track was unsuccessful. Everett Police photo of suspect.

Just after 1:00pm on October 3, 2012, a 69-year-old husband and his 70-year-old wife walked to Safeway at 7601 Evergreen Way for groceries.  They noticed a male in his late teens sitting outside the business before entering and shopping.  As they left, the two walked past the same male who ran up behind the wife and grabbed the wallet out of her hand.  The husband chased the male into a nearby apartment complex where a resident saw and joined the chase.  The resident caught the male as he climbed a fence and fought with him.  The resident could not detain the male who was able to escape.

During the chase, the husband collapsed and was found by arriving officers who administered first aid until Everett Fire arrived.  The husband was transported to Providence Medical Center – Colby Campus for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.  His condition is unknown at this time. Physical evidence was collected at the scene.  A police K-9 track did not locate the male.

The male suspect is described as white, about 5-9” and late teens. He was last seen wearing jeans, shoes and no shirt. We would like anyone who might have information on this robbery to please call 911, the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
