UPDATE1:00pm: Everett Police say the employee was a 76-year-old Everett man and the suspect 30, was also from Everett. Everett Police are cleaning up the aftermath of a daylight burglary at an Everett business this morning. According to Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell an employee was coming into a business at 1831 Colby when he interrupted an apparent burglary in progress. Snell says the employee used a gun to try to hold the burglar at bay while calling 9-1-1 but the burglar and the employee got into an altercation and the employee fired a shot. More than a dozen Everett Police Officers arrived on the scene and a K-9 was able to locate a suspect about a half block away. The suspect was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an Everett Hospital. The employee was not hurt.
