Everett Teachers and Schools Settle Contract. School Will Start Sept. 5th

Good News from Mary Waggoner at Everett Schools…

District and teacher union representatives announced a tentative contract agreement that includes an item students, families and staff have been waiting for – the first day of school for 2012-13 is Wednesday, Sept. 5.
All other contract details are pending the contract’s presentation and ratification by union representatives to its membership on Thursday afternoon.
“We are ready for school,” said Superintendent Gary Cohn. “Our schools are ready for students; the food service department has its menu planned and will be serving healthy meals to students on day one. School buses are scheduled, and routes are available on the district homepage from ‘In the Spotlight.’ Back-to-school events at each school are detailed on school websites. We are looking forward to greeting students and families on the first day of school next week, Wednesday, Sept. 5.”
