Looks like Indoor Football in Everett has failed for a second time

The parent company of the Everett Raptors Football team has filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. Northwest Pro Sports LLC filed for voluntary bankruptcy on July 30th and has a hearing coming up in Everett on September 4th. While he said he was not aware of the bankruptcy filing, Sean Whitmire of the Indoor Football League told me the Raptors were out of the league. “The Everett Raptors are not coming back to the IFL for the 2012-2013 season,” Whitmire said by phone yesterday.

At the meeting of the Everett Public Facilities District this morning several board members expressed surprise when told about the bankruptcy filing. Kim Bedier, General Manager of Comcast Arena at Everett said she hadn’t heard from the team since the end of the season. “We only had a one year agreement with the Raptors,” said Bedier. She added that many indoor football teams across the country had been having issues. “Even the Lingerie Football League has folded,” Bedier added. Comcast Arena was not listed as one of the creditors for Northwest Pro Sports LLC.

The Raptors were welcomed with much fanfare when the team moved from Kent to Everett back in October 2011. During their one year in Everett the team had a record of 5 wins and 9 losses.
