Know of a non-profit group in Everett that could use a little help? The United Way of Snohomish County is asking local agencies and non-profits to post projects that people can volunteer to help with during the annual Days of Caring event set for September 21st and 22nd.

In Everett, Page Ahead, Full Life Care, the Everett Food Bank, Friends of the Olde Everett Train Station and Families & Friends of Missing Persons & Violent Crime Victims have already posted projects online.

Each year, Days of Caring brings together volunteers committed to creating positive change in the lives of children, families and seniors. Volunteer teams, organized primarily by local companies, complete projects for local nonprofit agencies that often lack the necessary resources to tackle such important initiatives themselves. Projects range from reading to children at child care sites and engaging them in outdoor activities to landscaping an elderly persons front yard to sprucing up interiors at the YWCA.

The deadline to register projects is August 31. Local agencies and nonprofits are encouraged to register their projects at www.uwsc.org/daysofcaring.php.  Volunteers have until September 12 to sign up for projects.
