Everett Fire

Everett Fire Crews took a defensive stance against a fire that gutted a boarded-up house behind Buck’s American Cafe early Saturday morning. According to Everett Fire Marshall Rick Robinson the house was fully involved with fire on every level when crews arrived shortly before 5:00am. Robinson says there were reports that squatters may have been using the house but they found no evidence of anyone as they battled the blaze from the outside. “We were unable to go inside to check thru the house due to all the structural damage,” said Robinson. He also said the residents of the house directly to the north of the fire have been asked to leave their home because of the instability of the foundation of the burned house and the possibility it may collapse. The Snohomish County Red Cross is assisting those residents. Robinson estimated the damage at $80,000.00 and says investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
