Local boy scouts will properly dispose of all retired flags in a special ceremony

McClain Insurance in South Everett is offering a free flag exchange thru Friday while supplies last. Owner Claudia McClain says this is the 5th or 6th year they’ve done a flag exchange. “We love hearing the stories that people have about the old flags they are exchanging,” said McClain. “We’ve arranged with local Boy Scout Troops to have the old flags properly retired in a respectful ceremony.” The program is simple. Just bring your worn or tattered flag to the McClain Insurance office near the Costco in South Everett. Every old flag brought in will be exchanged for a new 4 ‘x 6’ flag that was made here in America. McClain says last year they exchanged over 125 flags. The exchange is running all this week or until they run out of flags.
