Everett Fire

Damage from this morning's arson fire was set at $3000.00

Early this morning, Fire District 1 Firefighters made quick work of a fire set outside of a door at Discovery Elementary on Meridian Avenue South, just south of the Everett City limits. According to Leslie Hynes of Fire District 1, the automatic fire alarm sounded around 3:00am. Firefighters found and extinguished a small fire on a wall and outside a door on the southwest corner of the building. They put that fire out before it could spread inside. Firefighters also discovered someone had attempted to set another fire outside a nearby portable classroom.

Hynes says there are no suspects, and the arson investigation is being conducted by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office. Anyone with information about the fires can contact investigators at (425) 388-3557.
