Help Everett's Madison Elementary build a new playground in honor of Val Dede.

Madison Elementary School in Everett is holding a scrap metal drive today to raise funds to build a new playground. You can bring most any type of scrap metal as well as electronics. There is a charge of $25 for refrigerators and $10 for televisions. The current playground was last remodeled 20 years ago and is suffering from vandalism and needs to be replaced. The new playground will be built in memory of Val Dede, a teacher at Madison Elementary for 24 years and in the Everett School District for 42 years. Dede passed away just three days after school ended last June.
