On Tuesday the City of Everett held a public forum for plans on the city’s central waterfront at the site of the soon to be demolished Kimberly-Clark plant. Tonight the Port of Everett will hold a hearing on the Port’s Marina District. Tonight’s meeting is happening from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Port’s offices at 1205 Craftsman Way. Here’s a bit more information directly from the Port about tonight’s meeting…

The Port of Everett is seeking direct feedback from the general public regarding plans for development. During this meeting, the Port of Everett invites community members to work side-by-side with Dykeman Architects’ design team to re-shape the existing marina and property plans around the marina. The planning process does not include a wholesale revision of the existing plan. Rather, the objective of this planning exercise is to maximize and improve on the existing plan by trying to stay within the approved City/Port Development framework.

Over the next several months, the Port of Everett will develop its Marina District Master Plan that will, in part, update its 2005 Master Plan for waterfront development. The 2005 development plan called for a mix of uses including residential, retail, hospitality, office space, public access and marina-related services.
