Everett to Soon Begin Trolling on Westbound Hewitt Avenue Trestle

April 1, 2012

Everett

The trolling will take place under this bridge coming into Everett where Hewitt and California intersect.

Based on the overwhelming success of the implementation on 520 and the Tacoma Narrows bridge, the City of Everett will begin collecting trolls on the Hewitt Avenue Trestle starting this summer. The troll collections will only be effective on the westbound lanes coming into Everett. “Because we’d have to share the trolling with the State, we will not be able to collect the trolls on the eastbound lanes out of Everett from southbound I-5 or the westbound lanes that curve into Everett onto northbound I-5.” said Bill Paiie, director of Traffic Revenue for the city. “The troll collection point will only be at the far west end of the trestle under the bridge just before the area where Hewitt meets California street.” Preliminary plans call for variable trolls based on the number of axles per vehicle.
