Cannon Fire Part of Change of Command Ceremony at Naval Station Everett

March 26, 2012

Expect to hear ceremonial cannon fire tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday morning at Naval Station Everett.

Last week we told you about a change of command ceremony aboard the Nimitz on Wednesday. Today there’s word that cannon fire will be part of that ceremony so people shouldn’t be alarmed if hear a cannon blast. There’s one that will happen tomorrow afternoon during rehearsal and then another on Wednesday shortly after 10:00 am as an official part of the ceremony. We were asked if the public was allowed on base to observe the ceremony but word is no. It’s only open to people who already have access to the base and not to the general public.
