Two Brothers Arrested For Early Morning Shooting at Everett Restaurant

February 13, 2012

Police Blotter

Everett Police this afternoon announced the arrests of two Marysville brothers, 26 and 22 years old, in connection with this morning’s shooting at Dos Reales Mexican restaurant on north Broadway. Everett Police Spokesman Robert Goetz says the two were arrested at their Marysville home by Everett and Marysville Police. The two are being questioned by detectives and are expected to be booked into the Snohomish County jail on charges of 1st degree assault.

Two men were shot this morning. One has been released from the hospital while another remains in guarded condition. Goetz says initial information provided to officers indicates that while the restaurant was closing, three men were unhappy about being told to leave. At one point the men had to be escorted out the door by on-site security. One of the men went to a car parked nearby and retrieved a handgun. He then returned to the front of the store and began firing toward the building striking the victims. Based upon evidence at the scene there appeared to be several shots fired. At least two of those shots struck the victims. It is not clear at this point if the victims were targeted or if they were random victims of the suspect’s indiscriminate shooting. After the shooting, the suspect fled with his other two companions in a black vehicle, possibly a Cadillac, eastbound toward Interstate 5.
