You can just see the hose going into the basement window

Everett Firefighters made quick work of a basement fire late Friday afternoon. Shortly after 5pm Everett fire crews were called to the corner of 13th and Broadway. As crews arrived smoke was coming from a basement window on the northwest corner of the house. According to Battalion Chief Joe Johnston, crews attacked the fire from outside the window before going into the house for a quick knockdown. An Everett Fire inspector determined the cause was an overheated electrical wire supplying a portable heater. The affected wire was supplied by two extension cords and one power strip. A load of clothes were placed on top of the electrical wire causing is to overheat. The home was occupied at the time of the fire but there were no injuries.
