The Everett Silvertips will head into the annual Christmas Break on a high note after beating the Spokane Chiefs 6 – 2 last night at Comcast Arena Everett. 13 Silvertips recorded at least one point and five different players lit the lamp in the victory, led by two goals from Josh Winquist and two assists each from Kohl Bauml, JT Barnett and Ryan Harrison. Backstopping the effort throughout was Kent Simpson, who finished the night with 44 saves as Everett was outshot 46-25 for the game after a rocky start.
It has been a tough season for the Everett Silvertips who are in a re-building year. The Tips have the worst record in the WHL with only six wins so far and attendance is down from previous years. The team will return to play on Tuesday December 27th against the Seattle Thunderbirds at ShoWare Center in Kent and come back to the home ice at Comcast Arena Everett on Wednesday December 28th, also against the Seattle Thunderbirds.
