Everett Engineers Find Way to Return Downtown Everett Christmas Tree

City of Everett reverses decision against annual Christmas Tree over Hewitt and Colby. It will return Saturday.

Earlier this week we reported the Christmas tree that the City of Everett traditionally puts up over the intersection of Hewitt and Colby wouldn’t be going up this year. City of Everett Spokesperson Kate Reardon said there were concerns about the age of the tree and the safety issues associated with hanging decorations over an intersection. That’s all changed now as city engineers have found a way to secure the tree above the intersection in a way that should keep it safe. At last night’s City Council meeting Everett Public Works Director Dave Davis told me crews came up with better bracing for the structure that supports the tree and that should keep it up thru most weather conditions. It will go up this Saturday.
