Sometime between 9:30am and 10:00am this morning the USS Abraham Lincoln will slip into the foggy waters surrounding Naval Station Everett. It’s a final farewell for the ship that has called Everett home for the last 15 years. The Lincoln will head out on a six month deployment before moving to Virginia for refueling of its nuclear reactor. After a four-year stay in Virginia, the Lincoln will be assigned to a new home port. The best places to see the Lincoln depart may be Harborview Park in west Everett on Mukilteo Boulevard or Lighthouse Park on the Mukilteo waterfront. Given the fog, it may be tough to see the ship and crew as they depart. If you’d like to keep up with them you can do so online at their Facebook page.
