Everett Fire Marshall Rick Robinson tells My Everett News that it may be some time before crews can get into the Geo-Dome house to determine the cause of a fire there this evening. The fire was reported at 5pm. Smoke and flames were coming from the back portion of the structure behind the domed portion of the house when crews arrived. It took firefighters about 50 minutes to get the fire out. They have done a preliminary search of the home and garage and found no one inside. Robinson says the house has been abandoned for years and they will need to determine if squatters may have started the fire or there is some other cause. Robinson gave a damage estimate of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00). The property had been slated for various development plans over the years and many Everett residents may remember a silver DeLorean parked out front. Lately the house has been fenced off and boarded up with police having to deal with squatters and trespassers over the last several months.
