Everett, WA has 13,000 Inlets, Storm Drains and Catch Basins to Keep Clean
The city of Everett is busy trying to keep up with reports of urban flooding and problems with surface water after receiving more than 3 inches of rain in the last 48 hours. During today’s Everett City Council meeting, Dave Davis from Everett Public works reported they’ve had about 15 service requests so far for issues regarding water problems. Some of the requests were just questions on what to do about basements flooding. After the meeting I asked Davis if there were specific things people should do. “Rake up leaves and debris from areas near catch basins and try to keep those clear.” said Davis. He also told me that the City of Everett has a 24 hour phone number for people to report problems. It’s (425) 257-8821. The number is answered by a live person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
