Ron Gipson has served on the Everett City Council since 1995

In a unanimous vote, members of the Everett City Council tonight elected Ron Gipson as their President for 2012. Gipson has served on the Everett City Council since 1995 and just won re-election to a fifth four-year term. When I asked him his reaction to being elected city council President he said, “We’re gonna have fun. There are going to be some changes but we will have fun.” Gipson was nominated by council member Jeff Moore and will succeed current council president Shannon Affholter starting in January. In other Everett City Council news they held the second of three public hearings tonight on the proposed 2012 budget and again this week, no one from the public had a word to say. The third and final public hearing on the budget is next Wednesday.
