A 31 Year old Renton man is dead and a 23-year-old Everett man is dealing with deputies after a confrontation over a stereo. Here’s the Press Release we received from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office this afternoon…

On November 10, 2011 at approximately 11:35pm, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 100 block of 117th Place Southeast, Everett on a report of a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, deputies found a 31-year-old male (Renton resident) unconscious and lying on the ground. Medics responded to treat the victim, but he was deceased upon their arrival.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was at the location to pick up a vehicle being stored at a residence. When the victim discovered a stereo missing from the vehicle, he confronted the suspect, whom he thought had stolen the stereo. The victim and suspect became involved in a verbal argument. At some point, the suspect attempted to leave the location in his vehicle, however was obstructed by the victim. After several attempts to leave the location, the suspect struck the victim with his vehicle and pinned him against another vehicle. The suspect moved his vehicle and the victim fell unconscious to the ground.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigations Unit are handling the investigation. The suspect, a 23-year-old male (Everett resident) was detained at the scene by deputies. The identity and cause of death of the victim will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
